Tiffany technology

This technology is close to the classic one. It is named in honor of the creator-inventor - the American Comfort Tiffany, who together with John La Fargement created it at the end of the XIX century. Products made in Tiffany technology are so graceful and refined that they give the impression of painting on glass. The secret of the technology is in the special assembly. For the manufacture of stained glass tiffany traditionally used American 3-millimeter translucent stained glass company Spectrum. Its coloring is diverse (monotone and multilayer - for example, with the texture of wood), and in a wide range of colors (about 200 shades). This technology gives a clear image with a mass of smooth broken lines. The artist-designer makes a color sketch taking into account the peculiarities of this technology and assembles the original mosaic from cut pieces of colored glass. In this case, special profiles, foil and alloys are used, and the product is soldered into a single whole.

This technology is perfectly suited for the design of window apertures when decorating stained glass windows (especially winning option with 3-chamber medium glass).

Stained glass, made in the style of tiffany is suitable for the design of entrance exterior doors. This option involves glass inserts in a double-glazed unit with triplex. Also, the glass is reinforced with an anti-shock film. Thus, the stained glass will gain reliability and will not lose its aesthetic characteristics.

A special effect is given by elements baked from colored glass on a transparent base (fusing). Stained glass gets a three-dimensional volume, thus revitalizing the pattern of the composition. This idea is good both for the stained glass plane (window, door insert) and when creating interior details, in particular lamps, chandeliers and other lighting fixtures.

The product of this technology is quite fragile, so it requires special care. Pressure on the surface should be avoided. Damaged parts of the stained glass can be replaced, but only a specialist can do this.
